These monsters did the most byย fabricating stories like that of the โTower of terrorโ story inside Tokyo Disney Sea (Man, that experience is terrific!) and Oh! like the other days they made me feel like I didn’t belong.
But they lied! They lied! Didnโt they? Picking on my fragile mind like that? They must be ashamed!
These monsters did the most by making me believe rumors about people and situations I hadnโt even crossed paths with. But guess what! It took me quite sometime to realize that extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence to be believed.
Itโs alright! It’s alright! I now take full RESPONSIBILITYย for giving them the green light to getting straight inside my head.
Other troublesome thoughts were brought to life by their strong will to make my life miserable but enough of the blame game, dear reader.
These monsters have actually played a very important role in my overly dramatic life by helping me bring forth great initiatives like my Mental Health Project ( Shades & Tints: #Bkind2UrMind campaign ). Seeing the brighter side of their unscrupulous behavior has only brought great joy to me and to others.
It took me 22 years, 8 months, 6 days, 4 hours, 2 minutes and a second to join all the pieces together and I bet Iโve got it all figured out now. Like how didnโt this click early on. Iโve been practicing Nichiren Shoshu Buddhism since childhood and its teachings is based on the law of cause and effect, which means, I am exactly where I need to be right now. Therefore, I am responsible for everything happening in my life at this present life moment. But you know, when that mysterious force called life happens, with all earthly desires bombarding us from all directions, we totally forget weโre RESPONSIBLE for all the choices we make and we spend most of our time blaming others or should I say, blaming “the devil” for our very own misfortunes? Well, turns out these โmonstersโ reminded me how I must face the music.
“When life makes you have to put up with mean and hateful creatures, think of them as sandpaper. They may may scratch you, rub you the wrong way, but eventually…you end up smooth and polished and the sandpaper is just going to be worn out and ugly” – unknown
We dedicate our time to expressing our dissatisfaction, making complaints, blaming others and what not but have we taken a moment to ask ourselves these key questions highlighted below?
1. Are we making an attempt to finding new solutions to our problems?
2. Do everything we see or hear, really need our opinions?
3. Why are we too quick to criticize and judge others?
“Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do. But it takes character and self control to be understanding and forgiving” – Dale Carnegie
To draw the curtains on this blogpost, I really do hope you were able to grasp what I tried projecting to you and probably, already on your way to making some lifestyle changes as I did.
Have a great week & don’t forget to be kind to your mind.
